Card rarities and odds
Every card gets its rarity the moment its pack opens. Here’s how likely each one is, what it means for the card’s stats, and how to tell them apart.

The odds
These are the odds for every pack, and they’re the same for every player. They don’t change with how much you play.
| Rarity | Chance | About | Each stat at level 1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 50% | 1 in 2 | 18 to 45 |
| Rare | 28% | 1 in 4 | 32 to 60 |
| Epic | 13% | 1 in 8 | 48 to 72 |
| Legendary | 6% | 1 in 17 | 60 to 84 |
| Mythic | 2.5% | 1 in 40 | 72 to 92 |
| SECRET | 0.5% | 1 in 200 | 85 to 99 |
Each of a card’s three stats rolls somewhere in its rarity’s range, so two cards of the same rarity can still be quite different. A card’s overall (OVR) is the average of its three stats.
Your first pack
Your very first pack is always Rare or better. It uses the same table, without Common:
| Rarity | Chance in your first pack |
|---|---|
| Rare | 56% |
| Epic | 26% |
| Legendary | 12% |
| Mythic | 5% |
| SECRET | 1% |
How to tell them apart
Besides its name, each rarity has its own touches on the card:
- A gem by the rarity’s name: a grey stone for Common, a blue diamond for Rare, a purple cut hexagon for Epic, a gold star for Legendary, a pink starburst for Mythic and a rainbow brilliant for SECRET.
- The picture’s edge takes the rarity’s colours, from Rare up.
- A wash of colour rises up the card’s panel from Epic up. Legendary, Mythic and SECRET also have a metal rim of their own, and from Legendary up the card’s edge is in the rarity’s colour. SECRET’s is every colour.
- Sparkles glint on the card now and then: 1 on Rare, 2 on Epic, 3 on Legendary, 4 on Mythic, 5 on SECRET. A card’s sparkles are always in the same places.
Opening a pack
The pack shakes harder and harder before it tears, with the colour of what’s inside glowing through its seams. The card slides out face down, whips round and slams down, and the land is brighter and longer the rarer the card.
Epic and better get a walkout: the type, then the overall, then the title, one beat at a time. A SECRET opens with a glitching “???” and thunder first. Each rarity has its own sound as its name lands, from a two-note pluck for a Common to a brass hit, crash and choir from Legendary up.
Rarity isn’t everything
Every level adds 3 to each stat, up to level 10, so a levelled-up Rare can beat a brand-new Legendary. In Clash, timing counts as well: a perfect stop multiplies a stat by ×1.4. See How to play and Clash.
Nothing random is for sale
Shards never buy packs, so nobody can pay for a chance at a rare card. Packs are free: one every day, plus bonus packs from the codes at the end of glint.skin’s Shorts. The game shows these odds too, in Settings → About glint.skin → Card odds.
