Every look: foils, frames, auras and more

What a card can wear

• A foil: the holo layer that shifts as the card tilts. Some foils are raised, embossed into the 3D card so their edges catch the light as it turns; others are deep, lying under the surface and sliding behind the print as the card moves.
• A frame: the card’s border. Some have ornaments that sit over the card.
• A background: what’s behind the card’s picture and stats.
• A name style: each has its own typeface and a plate behind the name (a glowing neon sign, a frosted slab, an arcade marquee, a gold-edged plaque…), and the card’s stat numbers take the same style.
• An aura: an animated effect around the card: flames licking up its sides, lightning that strikes again and again, snow over frost, bats round a blood moon.
• Stickers: on the card’s picture. Every card has room for one, and two more sticker slots can be bought.

Every card starts with the Classic Holo foil, the Clean frame and the Midnight background, and new cards keep the look your main card has.

Prices

A look’s price goes by how elaborate it is:

Anything in the Shop can be tried on your own card before you buy it, and put on with one tap after. Customize, on each card, has everything you own. Shards are free to earn every day: How to play lists every way.

Day rewards

Some looks can’t be bought: they’re for the days you play. A day counts the first time you play in it (a pack, a puzzle, the daily gift, a mission, a Clash or a share). Days don’t have to be in a row, and missing one loses nothing.

Sets

Sets are looks that go together, sold together for less than they cost one by one. Most sets also have an aura you can only get by owning the whole set.

• Y2K Chrome: Liquid Chrome foil, Aero Bubble frame, Glossy Hills background, Chrome name style, Butterfly sticker. Own the whole set for the Chrome Halo aura.
